Former National League umpire Satch Davidson's libel suit against the New York Daily News has been settled out of court.

The newspaper reported on April 9 that a source close to CBS News said the network would air a segment on gambling proving Davidson was involved in the fixing of games.Davidson's attorney, David E. Nachman, refused to reveal details of the settlement. Davidson had sought $5 million from the newspaper and $50,000 from writer David Kaplan.
