Bon Jovi will become first U.S. group to release an album on the official Soviet record label Melodiya. The deal is an offshoot of Bon Jovi's summertime performance at the Moscow Music Peace Festival.

No exact contract figures are being disclosed, but lead singer Jon Bon Jovi describes the Melodiya fee as "nominal," while the Soviets say the band will be treated like Soviet acts, which take flat fees, regardless of record sales.
