The Vine Street Theater, the resident theater company in the Mount Vernon Academy, 186 E. Vine St. (about 4900 South), is extending "Saturday's Warrior" through November.
The theater's new artistic director, Sharee Hughes, said the popular production will play most Mondays, Fridays and Saturday evenings for the next two months, but she cautioned theatergoers to NOT just drop in, expecting the play to be performed all of those nights.Because some cast members made other commitments before the extension, and due to the school's utilizing the space occasionally for scholastic programs, "Saturday's Warrior" may not be performed some nights.
Hughes urged prospective patrons to call the theater at 269-8080 to reserve tickets.
Agatha Christie's classic mystery "The Mousetrap," originally scheduled on the Vine Street Theater's fall lineup, has been postponed until sometime in January, and "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" will be presented during December.
Hughes is replacing Linda Fitt, now busy with graduate school, as artistic director.
