Utah Transit Authority has scheduled workshops in American Fork, Lindon, Pleasant Grove and Lehi to gather public ideas about bus service for each community.
UTA officials will discuss the terms and conditions for the annexation, and if these are approved by city officials they will be placed on the November general election ballot in each of the four communities.Pleasant Grove's workshop will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11, in the Pleasant Grove Library basement meeting room, 30 E. Center.
Lindon's workshop is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Lindon City Courtroom on 383 W. Lakeview Drive.
American Fork's workshop is at Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the American Fork Library meeting room on 64 S. 100 East, and Lehi has scheduled its workshop for Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Lehi Public Library large meeting room on 51 N. Center.
A combined workshop for the refinement of the transit service plan for all four cities will be Thursday, Oct. 26, in the American Fork Senior Citizens Center, 54 E. Main, American Fork. All the workshops are at 6:30 p.m.
Residents of the cities would pay a quarter-cent sales tax to help fund the system. At a recent public hearing in American Fork, citizens from each of the four cities voiced their support for the annexation. After the hearing the UTA board of directors voted unanimously to accept applications of annexation from all four communities.
