The Southern Utah State College Geology Club is donating $50 to the American Red Cross to assist victims of the San Francisco earthquake and is challenging other organizations to do the same.

"Our first thought was to go to San Francisco to help, but we soon realized that what they need is money, not so much physical assistance," said club president Dean Child.The 15-member group urged SUSC clubs to match its donation earlier this week and has decided to extend its challenge off campus to other southern Utah organizations as well. "If we all contribute, it will really add up," Child said.
