Bryce Cropper, a 1989 graduate of Granite High School, is one of only 10 winners nationwide in the National Semiconductor Corp. scholarship competition.

Cropper, the son of Leigh Cropper, a staff engineer at National Semiconductor's West Jordan facility, will receive $2,000 annually toward his studies in chemical engineering at Brigham Young University.

Winners were selected by an independent board based on grades, class rank, SAT scores, participation in extracurricular activities, awards and achievements and recommendations from teachers.
