Mark Curtis used to work in a Des Moines, Iowa, meat packing house. He was active in organizing a union and fighting for immigrant and women's rights.
He also helped protest against U.S. involvement in Central America.Now, Curtis sits in the Iowa State Prison for rape and burglary, charges his supporters say were false.
"The Frame-up of Mark Curtis," a 45-minute video by Hollywood film director Nick Castle, is being featured at a rally in Salt Lake City.
The rally, sponsored by the Utah Supporters of the Mark Curtis Defense Committee, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the AFL-CIO Labor Center, 2261 S. Redwood Road.
