The City Council has postponed taking action on an amendment to Provo's parade ordinance that would prohibit paradegoers from occupying a spot along the route of a parade before 5 a.m. on the day of a parade.

The postponement Tuesday was made in order to give the Freedom Festival Board of Directors time to review the proposed amendment. The council also continued discussion on an ordinance that would prohibit riding skateboards on property adjacent to the Provo City Library to allow time for additions to the proposed ordinance to be considered.

The council voted to cancel its meeting scheduled for next Tuesday, Nov. 7, because of the general election.
