A former Salt Lake County jailer will spend 30 days behind bars as part of his probation for possessing cocaine in the jail.
Edward R. Colbert, 24, must also pay $875 in fines and $150 to a drug abuse prevention program, according to a sentence handed down Monday by 3rd District Judge John Rokich.Colbert pleaded guilty last month to a reduced charge of possession of cocaine, a third-degree felony.
Rather than send him to prison, Rokich placed Colbert on two years probation.

Colbert was arrested at the jail May 20 after he was found to have a small amount of cocaine hidden in his uniform's waistband.
