SANTA WILL WELCOME KIDS TO SUGAR HOUSE WORKSHOP

SHARE SANTA WILL WELCOME KIDS TO SUGAR HOUSE WORKSHOP

Santa Claus will greet children in his workshop beginning Friday morning, Nov. 24, in the Sugar House Plaza.

He arrives at 10 a.m. at Sugarhouse Park. Welcoming ceremonies will feature music, plenty of balloons and candy, and Santa's helpers dressed as animals. After the welcome, Santa will move to the workshop, sponsored by the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce. This will be his second season in the customized Tuff Shed, which replaced a small gazebo that Santa occupied for 30 years and was accidentally destroyed during demolition in 1988 of the Hygeia Ice Co. building.

Spearheaded by President Lester G. Reese and Director John Walton, chamber members approached Tuff Shed manager David Mickelsen, who arranged for a shed at no cost. The new workshop became a reality just in time for last year's holiday season.
