Paul Savello and Richard Sherlock have been named Honors Professors at Utah State University for the 1989-90 academic year.

The designation recognizes exceptional faculty at USU and adds creative energy and diversity to the Honors Program, said Joseph Morse, program director.The professors will each teach an honors course this school year. Savello, of the department of nutrition and food sciences, will present "The Laws We Eat By: Food Laws and Regulations" winter quarter. The course will consider food safety issues including responsibilities of regulators, producers, processors, distributors, packagers and consumers.

Savello has worked in the Peace Corps, in secondary education and in the food industry. He holds a doctorate from USU and is continuing study toward a law degree.

Sherlock holds a doctorate degree from Harvard University. He has taught at Fordham University, the University of Tennessee and Northeastern University. He has published two books on medical ethics.
