Murray architect Arden Brett Bullock has been ordered to surrender his conditional architect's license in the wake of losing his appeal to the Utah Supreme Court of his 1986 conviction on six counts of sodomy and sexual abuse of a child.

Bullock, sentenced to a 15-year minimum mandatory prison term by 2nd District Judge Rodney S. Page, was freed from prison when the state court agreed to hear an appeal of his conviction. The court ruled against his appeal Oct. 18, and the state Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing issued an order Oct. 24 giving Bullock 30 days to surrender his license.

The division pulled his license after his conviction but reinstated a conditional license earlier this year while Bullock was out of prison during his appeal.

Bullock's attorney, Craig S. Cook, told Page on Tuesday he is filing for a rehearing of Bullock's appeal to the Utah Supreme Court. No new sentencing date has been set, pending the outcome of that petition for a rehearing.
