While Friday is expected to remain cool and dry, a weak weather system moving into northern Utah could bring light scattered showers to the valley areas along the Wasatch Front late Saturday.

Jim Pringle, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said the chance of showers will increase to 30 percent late Saturday night. The front should also bring about two to three inches of snow to area ski resorts. For the rest of the state, there will be general cloudiness but precipitation is not expected.

Friday's high is expected to be in the lower 50s with overnight lows in the lower 30s. Saturday's high should be in the mid-50s before the weather system's arrival.
