A Weber State College foreign exchange student faces a Dec. 22 trial on accusations of stealing test answers following a ruling Wednesday denying defense motions to suppress evidence.
Second District Judge David Roth rejected arguments evidence against Muhammasrusdee Thopearak is inadmissible because the Thailand native did not understand English when his rights were read and when police asked for permission to search his apartment.The 25-year-old exchange student was charged in August with burglary, on accusations he stole tests from a professor's office and provided information to other foreign students.
Investigators said the suspect formerly worked as a custodian at the school and had access to keys for campus offices.
