Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn had a guest shot on Thursday night's episode of "Cheers," the TV comedy set in a Beantown tavern, but don't expect him to quit his day job anytime soon. "Flynn flops," The Boston Herald said in a preview of the episode. "He can't act. Flynn should hope that when he runs for higher office, the `Cheers' tape never surfaces." The TV bar is modeled after the Bull and Finch, a saloon on Boston's Beacon Hill, where Flynn hosted a Thursday night benefit to help the city's homeless. Television screens were set up all around so patrons could watch Flynn's flirtation with stardom.
