SHARE EX-DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR JOINS ERLICH BOBER & CO.

Dale B. Carpenter, former executive director of the Utah Department of Community and Economic Devel opment, has been appointed associate director of the Salt Lake office of Ehrlich Bober & Co., an investment banking company that originates, underwrites, trades and markets municipal securities.

John D. Lee, president and chief operating officer of Ehrlich Bober, said, "Dale's hiring signifies our continued commitment to municipal finance and our belief that a local presence is essential to business development and client service."Cheryl D. Cook, manager of the Salt Lake office, said Carpenter will assume investment banking responsibilities with the firm.

Carpenter, who graduated from the University of Utah in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in economic geography with an emphasis in industrial location theory, also received a master's degree from the U. in 1968. He later served on the faculties of Southern Illinois University and Louisiana State University.

In 1974 he was appointed director of the Utah Division of Industrial Development and in 1978 left state government to start his own development business. He became department executive director in 1980 and in January 1985 formed DBC Development, a business park/real estate and community development company.
