Tintic High School's team "Lucky Guess" coached by teacher George Haney was in first place during Week 8 of the Stock Market Game. The team had total equity of $109,900 gained by selling 3,000 shares of Chevron.
Next was Cottonwood High School-Academy of Finance team "Aussies," coached by teacher Raymond Kartchner, with equity of $104,463. The Aussies bought 7,400 shares of Texas Air and had interest earnings.Third was Pleasant Grove High School's "M Team" coached by teacher Fran Gardner, with equity of $103,058. This team sold 1,000 shares of British automaker Jaguar it had acquired earlier in the contest.
The Stock Market Game, being played by junior and high school teams throughout Utah, has two weeks to run.
