West One Bank says it will open its first bank in Spokane, Wash., late this month, with Utah bank executive Edwin J. Salvi heading the operation.

The Spokane bank will have its own board of directors and president to plan expansion into additional offices, said D. Michael Jones, president of West One Bancorp.Salvi brings 17 years of banking experience to the new position, including serving in branch administration and credit and support services for West One Bank at Idaho.

Most recently, Salvi has been senior vice president and manager of West One's Utah Business Banking Group. Officials said he dramatically increased business banking relationships for West One in Utah.

West One's current branch operations in Washington state all are in the Puget Sound area. The bank has had a loan production office in Spokane for some time.
