SHARE DOE WILL RELEASE DATA ON HANFORD RADIATION

The Department of Energy will release data on potential radiation releases from its Hanford, Wash., operations from 1944 to 1960, a department spokesman told the Deseret News Tuesday.

Jeffrey Sherwood of DOE said the data will be given to Charles Till, who is doing studies to reconstruct potential releases.The data will be made available to the Downwinders group in Utah and Nevada through Till, Sherwood said.

Rep. Jim Hansen, R-Utah, said the State and Defense departments cleared the release of the data.
