Patricia Simmons, former legislative liaison for the Utah Division of Business and Economic Development, has been appointed director of government affairs for the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
Simmons, who has a bachelor's degree in marketing and political science from the University of Utah, also served as rural marketing specialist and resource coordinator for the state division. She also served as a legislative intern for the Utah Senate.In her new position, Simmons will be the Chamber's primary lobbyist representing the business community at large, Ball said. She also will promote and foster favorable working relationships with elected and appointed government officials and serve as the staff person to various government affairs committees including the Legislative Action, Congressional Relations and City/
County Government groups.
