The Utah Valley Community College is offering six internships in Germany for hospitality management students, a spokesman said.
The six-month internships will send students to hotels in Freiburg and the Black Forest, compensate them for room and board and provide about $375 each month for spending money, said UVCC professor Eberhard Lehnardt."The internships will focus on learning European hospitality," he said, a needed skill because "so many guests to the U.S. are from Europe, and Germany in particular."
Lehnardt said he will be teaching a course in "survival German" for the interns, and fluency in the language is not a requirement.
The training courses are sponsored by the college's Center for Foreign Business Culture Exchange.
