Production of dry beans in Utah during 1989 is estimated at 1.5 million pounds, according to the Utah Agricultural Statistics Service, a 58 percent decrease from last year and the lowest production figure since 1977.

Utah dry-bean growers harvested 5,000 acres in 1989.
