Chapman Richards & Associates, a residential and commercial real estate brokerage, is expanding. Next March the firm will move into a new building at 1406 E. Murray-Holladay Road, a short distance from its present location at 1660 E. Murray-Holladay Road.

George Richards, co-owner and principal broker, said his company has 4,500 square-feet of space now and in the new building will have double that amount. The new office is the second major building in a mixed-use business/residential park and Chapman Richards will use the entire space.The company employs 34 agents, but Richards anticipates that will increase to more than 50 and the administrative staff will be increased from four to six people.

Deseret Certified Development Co., Salt Lake City, one of 500 certified development companies in the United States, arranged the loan for the project with Small Business Administration 504 funds. Cache Mortgage Corp. was the private lender and contributed 50 percent of the unspecified amount of the loan.

Salt Lake architect Bob Dance designed the interior of the two-story red brick colonial building that will have patios and decks along a creek to enhance the view.
