Key Bank of Utah has donated $3,000 to the American Red Cross disaster fund, according to Ross E. Kendell, president and chief executive officer, with the money going to replenish funds used for victims of Hurricane Hugo and the northern California earthquake.

"All of us at Key Bank are very pleased to be able to contribute these monies to one of our nation's most important organizations. We are pleased to be able to support the Red Cross which plays such a vital role in the lives of so many people during these times of disaster and tragedy," Kendell said.H. Pepper Martin, chapter chairman, said the chapter has raised more than $125,000 for the hurricane and earthquake victims but noted that the most common disaster of all is the single family fire. Nearly every week in Salt Lake City a family is burned out of its home and turns to the Red Cross for food, shelter and clothing, Martin said.
