People in their 30s and 40s are the best problem solvers and are not "over the hill," a study conducted by a University of Wisconsin professor shows.

Psychology professor Nancy Denney said Wednesday her study shows people in their 40s solve problems better than those in any other age group. The study indicated people in their 30s are the next best problem solvers, she said, followed by people in their 60s, 20s and 70s. The worst group was people in their 50s, she said.

"The intent of the research is to really show that we're not over the hill at age 30," Denney said.
