A former Brigham Young University football player charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse has pleaded not guilty to those charges.

A jury trial was set for Waymon Hamilton, 28, for March 19 before 4th District Court Judge Boyd L. Park. Hamilton is charged with having sex with a 15-year-old Orem girl on June 3, 1988, and on Aug. 26, 1988, at his home in Orem.Hamilton moved to Calipatria, Calif., where he is teaching school, shortly after the second incident is alleged to have occurred. If convicted, he could receive up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine for each count.

Hamilton played football for BYU from 1980-83 and was named to the second team All-WAC in 1981, when he led the conference in scoring.
