A historic simulation of Capt. Glenn Miller and his Army Air Corps Band takes the stage in February at Utah State University. The theme is "Sunburst Club Canteen" in honor of the men and women who have served in the nation's armed forces.

The annual evening of dining, dancing and floor show entertainment will come to life this year in a simulation of an entertainment site set up for troops in the European Theater of Operations during World War II.According to USU's Derek Furch, who is in charge of the show, 1940s apparel and military uniforms are encouraged.

The production takes place Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 1-3 and 8-10, and Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 14-17.

Tickets can be purchased beginning Thursday, Jan. 4, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Ballroom and each working day after that from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in TSC room 311.

Telephone reservations may be made beginning Friday, Jan. 5, at 9 a.m. at 750-1137. Tickets are $19.95 and $21.95 plus tax per person.

The dinner is a prime rib buffet. The floor show is "Next to a Letter From Home," a reference to General James Doolittle's comment during World War II that Glenn Miller's band was the greatest morale booster next to a letter from home.

In conjunction with this year's motif, a museum of World War II artifacts and memorabilia is being assembled.
