Garfield County's visitor centers in Panguitch and Hatch hosted more than 36,000 people during the 1989 tourist season.

The Garfield Travel Council reported visitors at the centers planned to spend nearly 41,000 nights in Utah or just slightly more than an average of one night each.The visitor center in Panguitch registered 7,153 cars, carrying 19,725 visitors. The Hatch center recorded 6,306 vehicles and 16,328 visitors.

Figures were compiled from May through October.
