The Communist Party's Central Committee will hold an extraordinary meeting Saturday to set the agenda for the Soviet parliament next week, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Friday.

Journalists said the committee will discuss economic problems and the growing challenges to authority, including a vote in Lithuania that revoked the Communists' constitutionally guaranteed monopoly on power.Although the body began announcing dates of its meetings in advance, the official media carried no word of a Saturday session.
