A winter storm that could bring up to 4 inches of snow in Utah valleys north of Nephi is expected Saturday afternoon.

Bill Alder, meteorologist in charge of the U.S. Weather Service office in Salt Lake, said the storm will be of moderate strength and should continue through noon Sunday."It will probably start as rain and change to snow as temperatures drop Saturday afternoon," Alder said.

The storm could drop up to 18 inches of snow in the mountains.

Temperatures Saturday are expected to reach into the low 40s before the storm. Sunday highs are expected to be in the mid to upper 30s.
