The 1989 conference of the Utah Council of the International Reading Association will be March 3 and 4 in the Salt Lake Hilton.
A preconference session for parents will be at 7:30 p.m. March 2. Judy Schiefer will speak on "Sharing Books and Literacy with Your Children."The two-day conference will feature speakers and workshops. Deseret News Newspaper in Education staff members Sherry Madsen and Carolyn Dickson will speak on "Exploring the Dimensions of Thinking with Newspapers."
The March 4 luncheon speaker will be author Jack Prelutsky, whose topic will be "Chocolate Chips or Chopped Liver: Making Poetry Palatable for Children."
