Tom Cruise says Paul Newman is a very complex man. "I don't think anyone fully understands Paul. I suppose there are just too many sides to him, and that's what makes him so exceptional," Cruise, 26, says in the March issue of McCall's.
"I've never met anyone like him. He's complex and at the same time very simple."It was Newman, who'll be 65 next January, who introduced Cruise to auto racing while they were starring in the film "The Color of Money." "Paul would be driving behind me and would bring his car close to mine and sometimes alongside, to give me the feel of being in traffic during a race," Cruise says. "A few times he would smack me a little, so I'd get to know what could happen out there."
