Frank Johnson, a former business consultant and marketing professor at the University of Utah, has been appointed director of the state's Division of Public Utilities, a state official said.
A former state legislator, Johnson is also former owner and president of Stevens-Henager College of Business, associate dean of the U.'s Graduate School of Business and president of the Intermountain chapter of the American Marketing Association.The division provides information and recommendations to the state's Public Service Commission regarding regulation of Utah's investor-owned utilities, said David Buhler, executive director of the state's Department of Business Regulation.
"Frank brings to this position years of experience in both the private and public sector," Buhler said.
