The City Council voted 3-2 to reject a counteroffer to purchase 4.1 acres of land adjacent to the city's recreation center.

The council voted to stick to its original proposal to buy the land for a park for $45,000 rather than the higher price. Councilman Robert Gramoll said a road and placement of the land didn't make it worth the higher price.
