Ski resorts could get a significant sales tax break. But it won't be this year.

Lawmakers passed a compromise bill that will create an economic development fund that will reimburse a portion of sales taxes paid by ski resort owners to build new lifts and install snow-making equipment. Only this year there is no money in the fund for rebates."We have the mechanism in place," said Sen. Lyle Hillyard, R-Logan. "Maybe next year we can put some money into the fund."
