A Salt Lake man was killed in a one-car traffic accident on 1-15 Sunday afternoon.
Richard L. Christensen, 33, was southbound about 37th South at 2 p.m. when he lost control of his Toyota station wagon, slid into the median and was ejected out the back hatch door of his car.Christensen was thrown 60 feet and landed in the median. A dispatcher for the Utah Highway Patrol said Christensen was traveling in excess of 70 miles per hour at the time of the accident.
He was taken by helicopter to LDS Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He was the only occupant of the car.
