SHARE SCHOOL BOARD GROUP ELECTS ALPINE MEMBER TO SERVE AS 2ND V.P.

Alpine School Board member Jan Lewis has been elected second vice president of the Utah School Boards Association, during the organization's annual convention in Salt Lake City.

Lewis, former president of the Alpine board, will work to see that the High School Activities Association is more accountable to the Utah School Boards Association. She also will focus on school board member in-service training and legislative visibility and accountability.With her recent re-election to the Alpine board, Lewis will serve until 1992. She has been on the USBA board of directors and received the association's merit award in 1986, 1987 and 1988.

She is on the Utah State PTA board of directors and has served in local, regional and state PTA positions for the past 13 years. Lewis has been a member of the Governor's Commission on the Status of Women.
