Adele, a 23-month-old Lebanese girl, lost her right foot when an artillery shell hit her grandparents' house in Beirut. The blast killed her mother, father, two aunts and her grandmother. On Tuesday, Syrian gunners shelled a Christian army position outside Beirut, and tension rose about a possible violent Moslem response to the expected arrival of two French ships with humanitarian aid. Since March 8, 180 have died in the civil war fighting in Lebanon.
