Doors to the Salt Palace exhibition hall will open May 4 for four days of information, entertainment and enlightenment for Utahns.
Hundreds of booths, featuring everything from homebuying or remodeling to summer recreation, along with how-to-do-it tips from professionals will be part of the Deseret News Home and Summer Living Show. This year's show has been expanded to four days because of large crowds that attended previous shows. The event is free to the public.Sponsored in cooperation with the Home Builders Association of Great Salt Lake and the Newspaper Agency Corp., this year's show will again be combined with the annual Showcase of Homes.
The Home Builders Association will present an information area with photographs of new homes constructed by its members. The new dwellings, featured in the organization's annual Showcase of Homes, are located throughout Salt Lake County and south Davis County.
The HBA Remodeling Council, composed of architects, suppliers and remodelers, will provide one of the informative seminars during the event, and show visitors are invited to bring sketches or plans for remodeling to gain professional tips for their project.
Other half-hour demonstrations will be presented daily with professionals providing information on many subjects, such as home decorating, summer meals, residential lighting techniques and installing lawn sprinklers.
Broadcasting will be done from the show live on KSOP, FM104 and AM-1370.
