A Salt Lake man who said he refused to join a gang last month was shot at three times over the weekend, according to police reports.

The man, 21, was driving south on 10th West near Second South about 4 p.m. Sunday when a car pulled alongside his car and fired two shots, apparently with a large-caliber semiautomatic handgun. The shots shattered the passenger's and driver's-side windows, narrowly missing the victim.The victim told police that he was approached last month by a black man and three Hispanic men who asked him to join a local gang. After he refused, they threatened to kill him.
