Maureen Reagan, daughter of former President Ronald Reagan and actress Jane Wyman, says she was abused by her first husband.

"One night when he seemed to think I was gathering the resolve to finally leave him, he started strangling me, and when I fell on the floor he kicked me in the head," Reagan wrote in her new book, "First Father, First Daughter."In an excerpt published in this week's People magazine, Reagan wrote that her husband frequently beat her during the brief time they were married in the early 1960s.
