Salt Lake free-style skier Jan Bucher won the Outstanding Competitor Award from the United States Ski Writers Association.

Bucher, 31, received the award at the USSWA presentation Friday at a banquet concluding the U.S. free-style skiing championships.The member of the U.S. free-style team took her second world championship this year at Objoch, W. Germany, and took home her eight Grand Prix title in a decade.

Meanwhile, Bucher won her fourth national ballet crown Friday.
