Salt Lake police are investigating the Saturday night holdup of an east-side doughnut shop in which an undetermined amount of cash was taken.

No one was injured in the 7:40 p.m. robbery of Winchell's Donut House, 2707 S. Highland Drive, said Lt. Tom Brown.Three teens entered the store, went to the rest room and when they came out, two of the youths left the shop. The third "approached the clerk, simulated a weapon in his pants pocket (and) demanded money," Brown said.

The youths left in a large, maroon car, and the lieutenant said officers are tracing the license plate number.
