Because of notice problems with a Dec. 14 hearing, the Federal Aviation Administration held a second Utah hearing on the impacts of military uses of the nation's airspace, an agency spokesman says.
Mitch Barker, from the FAA's Seattle regional office, said the second meeting was held Feb. 24 in Salt Lake City. Notices of that session were sent to all registered pilots in Utah, Oregon, Idaho and 10 counties of Colorado, he said. The Downwinders military watchdog group is complaining the FAA did not notify environmentalists of the February meeting, calling the omission a deliberate attempt to exclude critical views.

Barker denied any attempt to keep the environmentalists out. He said notices were run in the Federal Register.
