State police in Minneapolis are going to use Mustangs to corral speeders this summer. Ford Mustangs, that is. The high-powered variety that can reach 140 mph. The customized cars can travel about 20 mph faster than standard patrol cars and have concealed flashing lights and antennas so they can travel incognito. "We have people who tell us they're driving the speed limit and they're getting blown off the road," said State Patrol Chief Roger Ledding. "We're hoping these cars slow things down." The $13,000 cars feature 5-liter, V-8 engines and special tires and wheels for stability at high speeds.
