A car driven by Gilbert Friel, 83, 1949 S. Sixth East, was traveling east on 21st South at Third West when it rear-ended another car, which set off a domino effect and hit two others, officers said.A small pickup driven by Tolby J. Guerrero, 48, then collided into the back of a car driven by Richard H. Kimball, 45, both of Salt Lake City, said officer J.R. Nelson.
Kimball's vehicle then rear-ended a van driven by Russell Strang, 19, of West Valley City, Nelson said. Three cars were totaled in the 3:15 p.m. accident that caused $16,000 in damage.
