The Utah Department of Transportation has opened bids for pavement repair along a 20-mile section of I-80 in Tooele County.
This portion of interstate has developed ruts on the outside lanes of both the eastbound and westbound sides. The project also calls for replacing of directional signs that have been in place for more than 15 years and have lost much of their reflectivity. Work on the project will restrict traffic to one lane on each side.Staker Paving was low bidder at $4,625,310, compared with the engineer's estimate of $5,086,111. The project is to be completed by Oct. 15.
