A California youth was killed and six other people were injured in a one-car accident 30 miles south of Nephi on I-15 at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Raymond O. Mitchum, 17, Cudahy, Calif., died when he was thrown more than 50 feet after the car flipped over at the bottom of a 30-foot embankment, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Blair Bradford.All the victims were taken to Central Valley Medical Center by East Juab County Ambulance.

Michelle Scott, 23, South Dakota, and one of her sons, Rickey Scott, 4, were treated at Utah Valley Regional Hospital and released. Another son, Ryan Scott, 2, was admitted to the hospital and was in stable condition Wednesday morning. Scott's oldest son, Raymond Freeman, 5, was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

Misty Arcuri, 13, is in critical condition at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

Eric Rodriguez, 17, Cudahy, Calf., was in fair condition at Utah Valley with a fractured leg.

Mitchum and Scott were planning to be married, said Bradford. He said Mitchum was in the process of moving to South Dakota when the accident occurred.
