Dr. Leland Cowan, Dr. LeGrand Belnap and the family of Glenn Walker Wallace will be honored at The Event, a dinner-dance sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

A reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel, with dinner following.Cowan, former president of the Utah division of the Cancer Society, will be awarded with the "Sword of Hope" for 20 years of distinguished service as a volunteer.

"Humanitarian Recognition Awards" will be presented to Belnap for his dedication and exemplification of a compassionate physician, and in the memory of Wallace, who was known for her humanitarian contributions to the arts and health care. In her honor, a Glenn Walker Wallace Memorial Cancer Research Fund has been established at the University of Utah.

"Double Take" will provide music for the dance, and Dick Nourse, KSL-TV news anchor, will be master of ceremonies.

Tickets for The Event may be purchased at the American Cancer Society office, 620 E. South Temple, or by calling 322-0431. Tickets are available for $75 per person, or $150 per couple. A donation of $1,250 will secure a President's Circle table with 10 seats, or other tables are available for a $750 contribution.
