-Investment banker Sandra Solomon contends that the term "penny stocks" is being unfairly used to smear all low-priced issues. She notes that it's not the price of a security that causes abuse. I hope to sell her a bumper sticker campaign: "Stocks don't con people, people do."

-A study concludes that illness keeps women away from their jobs an average of 5.5 days a year, compared to 4.3 days for men. That's 1.0 days to cover the women's sicknesses and 4.5 for their kids'. - Ed Scott
